ANNOUNCING: RAS4 HAS BEEN RELEASED

LSC and LIS are pleased to announce the release of RAS4 as a replacement to RAS3 currently in use. Agencies and schools can download RAS4 free-of-charge. Licenses are not associated with RAS4. This allows for installation on an unlimited number of computers in each agency and school.

To download RAS4, go to http://erf.registerofohio.state.oh.us/filerInformation/ras. Also available on the download site are installation instructions, an updated training manual, and training information. We ask that you review the updated training manual and do some testing after installing RAS4. It is our hope that review of the manual and some practice with the new functions of RAS4 will be enough to familiarize current RAS3 users with the new version of RAS. The traditional Intro to RAS class is available for new RAS users and if current RAS3 users have questions about RAS4 after reviewing the manual and working in it, please call the ERF Help Desk to arrange further assistance or to sign up for RAS4 training. RAS3 and RAS4 can both be installed on your computer at the same time. While we understand users are anxious to uninstall RAS3, we recommend that RAS3 not be uninstalled immediately. Rules currently in progress in RAS3 can be opened in RAS4 to continue editing. However, we do not recommend that you open and edit a rule in RAS4 and then open it in RAS3 as some of the new features of RAS4 are not backwards compatible with RAS3. Also, if edits have been completed in RAS3, there is no need to open the rule and re-save it in RAS4 for filing.

As RAS4 is a new application, when previewing rules on the ERF Website it is important to CAREFULLY EXAMINE YOUR RULES BEFORE FILING to be sure that all edits were made as expected. If you discover an issue, please report it to the ERF Help Desk.
